Rescue Roadtrip is a life-saving rescue initiative made possible through a collaboration between iHeartDogs and Bosque Animal Rescue Kennels (BARK) — a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Texas. This program was created with a shared mission: to give at-risk shelter dogs a second chance at life by transporting them to areas where they have a greater opportunity to find loving homes.

Why It Matters

In many rural areas, animal shelters are either at capacity or don’t exist at all. Dogs in these communities are often abandoned, neglected, or left to fend for themselves. Rescue Roadtrip helps change that by relocating these vulnerable dogs to regions where shelters are better equipped and adoption rates are higher.

We coordinate with local rescue groups and trusted foster networks to ensure the dogs have safe, caring environments to land in while they wait for adoption.

Our First Rescue Mission

We’re thrilled to share that the first official Rescue Roadtrip will take place on June 14, 2025. On this journey, 28 abandoned puppies from a rural Texas county with no shelter services will be safely transported to trusted foster homes in Colorado. These foster homes provide a loving, temporary environment where the dogs can begin their healing journey and await adoption into forever homes.

Even more exciting—this trip will be livestreamed! You’ll be able to witness the journey as it happens, from the moment the dogs are loaded onto the transport vehicle to the first leg of their ride toward a brighter future. Stay tuned for livestream details!
