User Guide: Solar LanternsUpdated 23 days ago

This guide will help you set up and operate your solar lantern. These steps ensure your product runs smoothly, providing optimal lighting for your garden or outdoor space.

How The Solar Light Works

During the day, the solar panel recharges the battery inside the solar lantern. At night, the light turns on automatically by the stored energy. How long the light lasts will depend on its location, weather conditions, and seasonal lighting availability.

Choosing The Right Location

An outdoor location with direct sunlight, and where the solar panel of your light can receive at least 6 hours of sunshine each day, is an ideal location for your solar light. Shady locations will influence the batteries' charge and may shorten the working time of the light at night-time. The solar light should not be placed near lighting such as street lights, which may cause the light to turn off as there is a sensor inside to detect brightness and switch the light on or off. The solar light is ideal for nighttime lighting of the garden, lawn, patio, walks, or wherever needed. You can also charge the light outdoors, then use it as indoor illumination.

Precautions

Take note that the light is designed to work when the environment is dark. If there are strong light sources nearby, then the lamp might be very dim or not work at all. Although the battery has been charged by the manufacturer, the electric levels will have dropped when you receive it. Please charge it for a full day to optimize performance. The surface of the solar light must be kept clean; if not, this will influence the efficiency of charging.

How To Use The Solar Light

There is an on-off switch at the top of the product. Please push the switch to “on” position, then the automatic system will start to work. When the environment turns dark, the solar light will light automatically. In daylight, the solar light will turn off and store energy from the solar panel automatically. If the light does not turn on automatically in darkness after 6 hours of charging in the light, please check the following things:

  1. Make sure the power switch is in the “on” position.
  2. Check the battery to ensure that the ends are making secure contact with the terminals.
  3. Ensure the light is in a sunny location and not in a shady area, and that the solar panel is facing the sun.

Replacing The Batteries

If the light stops working (after a period of use), the battery may be beyond its lifespan. You may remove/separate the solar light disc from the lantern, open the disc cover of the battery compartment (remove 2 screws) to replace it with a new rechargeable battery.

Battery Specifications:

Disposal And Recycling Of Batteries

To protect the environment, batteries must not be thrown in the domestic garbage, nor disposed of in a fire as they contain dangerous materials. Dispose of the batteries by taking them to your local waste collection service to be recycled. Replacement batteries can be purchased at most electrical retailers.
